I really enjoyed this book. I read through it first and plan to go through it again and answer the bible study questions. It is a book I needed to read right now. Although some may think some of her examples may be simplistic, I like most of the examples she gives of her own life because they demonstrate how one can see God in even the small things in life. We all have those kinds of stories and I always enjoy to hear them. I recommend this book to any woman who is looking to understand how to I really enjoyed this book. I agreed with much of what the author had to say but so frequently, the author loses me completely with her life illustrations. Stories about wanting a new outfit and then deciding to give the money away and having God come through and provide her with a new outfit somehow just really runs me the wrong way. I would really like to connect with Mrs. Terkherst but I just find her too American and comfortably middle class to connect to her writing.

Narrator Thoughts – I thought this woman did a wonderful job of bringing this book to life. With a good mix of emotion and clarity she read this book and put her heart into it. I thoroughly enjoyed her. Book Thoughts – I was so excited when this book came up for review. A few months ago I read Unglued and was so encouraged by it. This book was also so encouraging. I love how real Lysa is and how much she opens her heart. She’s so real and I’m encouraged by that. When we say yes to His leadings, great things happen. All that He has becomes ours and all that we are becomes His. I enjoyed her encouragement to test the thoughts that come to us. Many times I want to run ahead and do whatever I feel, but God does call me to see what His plan is. I’m thankful for people like Lysa to be real with us and encourage us to say Yes to God. And I love the cover. It’s so pretty.

What Happens When Women Say Yes to God is about surrendering your whole life to God. Through scripture and her own personal experience, the author is a guide to what can happen when you develop a complete relationship with God. Her ability to open up God's desire for my life helped make me want to read some chapters over and over. I read this book in conjunction with the P31ministry dot org online bible study. I would recommend this book to any woman (or man) who wants to take their life in Christ to the next level.

I did this as a bible study and really enjoyed it. It was accompanied by a video where Lisa spoke each week and she's someone with extraordinary stories of her life and she's the kind of person you would just want to be friends with. The main ideas that jumped out at me are: 1-A daily prayer that states, "God I want to see You today. I want to hear You today. I want to know when You're speaking to me today. God I want to know You. Prepare my heart to say yes to You. 2- God's will = what God wants I did this as a bible study and really enjoyed it. If we do these things then what God wants us to do will unfold from there. Now I'm going to find some other things to ready by her.

This book is probably a great place to start if you have never studied obedience, but it is not a comprehensive resource. I felt the writing was a bit fluffy and relied too heavily on anecdotes. I would have liked to seen more Scripture and more time spent on how to walk out obedience when it is hard work. (ie., loving the unloveable, walking in obedience through times of hardship or conflict, etc...)

Love, love, love!! I don't know what else to say about this book except how much I love it. Lysa has a great writing style that kept me wanting to read more and dive deeper. I really appreciated the personal examples she included throughout the text...not because I think everything is perfect and happy and we'll always be able to see exactly what God is doing, but because it shows me more of how to look for God and how my radical obedience can translate into something so much bigger than me. Excited to start applying what she said and becoming radically obedient to Christ in my life, so I may have the kind of relationship with our Lord that is described throughout this book. Ironically, I felt like the example she used of Mary pouring perfume on Jesus near the end of Lysa's book was a "God moment" for me-being that we have just this week been studying the same passage in Awana with my daughter-and was God's way of saying "you're on the right path studying this book. Use it, apply it. I've connected these to show you I'm here." Such a simple, small blessing that I could have skimmed over, but stopped to notice.

What Happens When Women Say Yes to God was a good nonfiction read. It definitely has some truths that I (and I think most women) needed to hear and be reminded of. While I didn't necessarily agree with everything in the book, it did challenge me at times and I liked it for the most part. Overall I liked this book on obedience. It used examples to show that God gives more after he asks us to give something up. It almost reminded or prosperity teachings in a way, but my main issue was with the examples used just because I couldn't relate to them. They seemed to show small, insignificant inconveniences as problems. Not saying the author didn't experience real problems, just that the examples she used seemed a bit shallow and small compared to people's real struggles. Lots of great insights in this book and TerKeurst is so down-to-earth in her writing that I can imagine having coffee with her. Because it was a short-term Kindle loan, I wasn't able to delve into the Bible study portions at the end of each chapter like I would have wanted, but I still took away a lot to chew on.

My Review: If you are a young woman of faith you feel like the whole world is opened up to you. But if God has set you apart for an even more important stand out of the faith it can sometimes feel like a 2 ton boulder on your back. That is why it is imperative for you to be mentored by some really strong women of faith to help you through these times especially the trying ones. They are there to show you the way and to hopefully show you what they have learned whether it be through trial or triumph. This book entitled What Happens When Young Women Say Yes to God is an excellent example of that mentoring by two women that have been there. One; Lysa Terkeurst, a woman that has bridged the gap between glorifying God and showing other women that it truly takes a strong faith to withstand everyday challenges. And two; Hope Terkeurst, a young woman that has begun her journey deep in the throws of mission work to show us all to never fear as long as God has your back you can take on the world if you have to. This mother and daughter team have joined together to put into action a devotional for those ladies that need some uplifting and encouraging. Because many times those woman that have been called to do extraordinary things for God are in a very lonely, discouraged place. This devotional is based on the Y.E.S. Factor, Y-Your, E-Extraordinary, S-Story. A somewhat unique way to pattern your life, your ministry, and your calling to be exactly what God wanted you to be. **Disclosure** This book was provided to me at no charge for my honest review by Harvest House Publishers.

Another great one by Lysa Terkeurst! I also completed this one with Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study. I believe this may have been the first one I did with them. This was a year or two ago though I think.

During the time I was reading this book, one of our Yeses ended up really causing me a lot of pain & sadness. I remember looking at the book one day and saying out loud " You wanna know what happens? A woman gets hurt!" After God gave me peace, I went on to finish the book. Can you believe the very next chapter I read was titled "If It Were Easy, It Wouldn't Be Worth Doing"!? Talk about God's perfect timing. I needed that at that exact moment. I am a woman who has said YES to God and although sometimes it is hard, I can honestly say that I am glad I did and continue to do so.

Quick read and really enjoyed the book. I liked the examples Lysa gave and expanded on from her own life experiences. She is clearly very in tune with the Spirit and although she claims the voice isn't audible, she captures what she hears and how she responds with obedience. I like how Lysa is honest about her family life and her struggles with her home and kids. Reminds me that having a relationship with God and being obedient to Him doesn't always equal roses and butterflies. I didn't do the Quick read and really enjoyed the book. Usually I would say that I was not wanting the book to end, if it were a book of Characters and Storyline; however this Study book about radical obedience has impacted my daily life, that I don't want it to end. This book was a friend of encouragement and direction to keep me focused on Christ and Eternity and to Keep walking In Faith. I appreciate the references to scriptures in the Bible. I love Lysa TerKeurst style in writing. I love her examples and can relate to her feelings and the way she looks at life. As someone who was not raised in church or had strong Christian parents, Lysa has helped me to get closer to God. I didn't really know how or if I even wanted to be a strong Christian. God uses her through her writing to reach people. Even if it's just one person like me :) I highly recommend anything written by her. Made to Crave and Unglued are also very good books.

This was an amazing book...made even better by the sharing of it with my women's small group. Lysa TerKeurst tells a great story then adds meaning to it by bringing in the Bible and what it tells us about having a relationship with God. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a desire to take this relationship to a stronger place but be prepared for some life-changing moments! I also suggest reading this as part of a group study so that you can really dig in and get the most out of it.

I did this as part of a small group bible study with the video and just read the book the last couple days. It has been transformative to my outlook and perception of what it is to be 'radically obedient' to a living God - who loves and guides me daily and has a divine plan for my life. It has challenged my in a very positive way to seek the face of God.

This was an amazing little book. Definitely has the potential to be life changing if applied. I would say it's a book that would be helpful to men, as well as women. In fact, I'm reading it to my boys right now, and they are getting a lot out of it. This is a book I will read more than once, and I highly recommend it to people that want to go deeper with their relationship with the Lord.

As you read Lysa TerKeurst's book, she writes as one sitting at your table having a gentle friend chat or a loving mother discussion. I enjoyed this book so much that I am going straight into her book "What happens When Women say Yes to God." I am amazed at how Lysa's story intertwines with my own. I would bet that her story intertwines with yours too.

This book was A.MAZ.ING! It was introduced to me by Proverbs31 Online Bible Study. The study ran six weeks. I couldn't believe a book could change me in such a short amount of time. After I read the first chapter I purchased five more books and sent them to family and friends. I can't wait to do this study again.

Obedience at its best I am in love with this book. Halfway through I bought a copy for a friend and have recommended to numerous people. This book has opened my eyes tremendously and brought me closer to God than ever before. I'm beyond blessed to have been given the opportunity to read and study it. I highly recommend!!

I had an awesome time studying God's Word through this book. I had a lot of God moments during the reading of this. I said Yes to God this year with a mission trip that continues to change my life everyday. Its not about all the jewels here on earth but saying Yes to God. I look for those moments everyday.

Maybe it is because I listened to this after finishing "Knowing God" by J.I. Packer and beginning "When I Don't Desire God" by John Piper, but this book was just... weak. It was watered down and often actually seemed silly. I'm sure there were some good points and encouragements, but they were lost in the cons of this book.

I absolutely LOVED this Bible study. In fact, I loved it so much I decided to join Proverbs 31 Ministries and re-do the study. I find Lysa to be wise and entertaining at the same time. I often feel like I'm looking in the mirror when I read her books. She is not afraid to get to the core of the issue and she does it in such a loving way.

Nothing groundbreaking here. It is a good but shallow message of encouragement to improve your relationship with God. I did not choose to do the bible studies - and perhaps had a done so the experience might have been better. Everything I found that really touched me were quotes from other books.

Although this isn't an especially meaty or substantial book, I enjoyed it. The author's discussions about radical obedience are inspiring. I like how the book combines traditional chapters with Bible study work to complete on your own.
